Yueyang is located in the middle reaches of the YangtzeRiver with special geographic transportation advantages to link south to north and east to west.

Water Carriage: Urban Chenglingji Port is one of the eight best ports along the Yangtze River. Two 5000-tonnage foreign trade ports and two special ports have been set up directly opening to foreign ships from Japan, Korea and some other southeast Asia.

Railway: Beijing-Guangzhou Railway goes through thewhole city from north to south with 161 kilometers. Along the line, eighteen transportation stations with twenty-eight special complete railways link to the two ports and more than twenty middle and large-scale enterprises.

Highway: There are 5268 kilometers of highway in the whole city, and Beijing-Zhuhai expressway, No. 107 and No. 106 state highway goes through the city vertically and horizontally. All the counties and cities (at county level) are linked with high-grade highways.

Aviation: It is 135 kilometers southward from Yueyang to Changsha Huanghua International Airport on Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway and it is 185
kilometers northward from Yueyang to Wuhan Tianhe Airport on the same way.
